Samir Obaido has joined Haefliger Production as an assistant manager to garner experience in the sphere of music & cultural management. Samir feels a keen affinity to communication and its role in facilitating events in the cultural scene of Europe, so for him it is essential to explore that within the frame of artist management.
Mainly a musician, Samir has been playing in the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra since 2017, and has been a member of the West-Eastern Divan Ensemble since 2020. He additionally began giving violin lessons at the Musikschule Schneegans in February 2022. Samir speaks English, German, and Arabic.
Born in Amman, Jordan, Samir grew up in a Palestinian household with music and the arts situated in the clear foreground. In 2015, he applied to the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin in search of proper academic training and new international, cultural impulses. During his studies, he received violin lessons from Axel Wilczok and Michael Barenboim, and completed his Bachelor’s in 2019. Samir also acquired an Artist Diploma in 2020.
